this website contains some simple questions without going into any heavy spiritual arguments. it seems that most websites related to this question clearly belong to a religion group.

people from all religions, including those who believe in anti-religions and no-religions...more or less anyone who ever gave a hoot about religion, many are also interested and have asked themselves before, what is the answer to all this ? what is the point ?

when people practice charity, they should not abide in the notion that they are practicing charity. This is what is called 'practicing charity because you truly want to and not for the sake of showing others' and 'practicing charity while not abiding in sound, odor, taste, touch, or conceptions.' This is what is called 'practicing charity because you truly want to and not for the sake of feeling better about something evil you have done or because some outside source tells you it is the right thing to do or because you think it will give you something good in return'.

Why? If people practice charity simply because someone tells them to do it, or because they want to keep up an appearance, or because they believe it will give them something good in return, then that act of helping others is just a nice 'feel-good cover' for their true intentions or lack-of-personal-intention.

so the next time you do charity, ask yourself. if nobody was watching, if nobody will ever know, if there is absolutely zero benefit for you in doing it...will you still do it ?.

please do some quiet 'self ' reflection AND also 'real life' reflection, what i am trying to say is that how we think we will react and how we actually react, can be 2 very different things.
